Violinist Carmine Lauri will be performing in a high-profile event on Wednesday, performing Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, accompanied by members of the Oxford Philharmonic, of which he is the concert master.

For this performance Lauri was given the opportunity to choose one of three Stradivari violins, loaned to him by J & A Beare’s Ltd. Lauri chose to perform on the Piatti Stradivari made in 1717, a fine example of the maker’s Golden Period instruments.

The event will take place at St Mary’s Church in Oxford as part of the Raymond Blanc Festival of Music.
