Every single day, thousands of letters, parcels and packages are delivered from all corners of the world to numerous homes around Malta and Gozo.

With the growth in online retailing and e-commerce, parcel and package deliveries are increasing each and every day and according to Eurostat statistics in 2016, half of the Maltese population purchased products online. These numbers can be attributed to the wide variety of items and better prices found when shopping online.

Over the past years, MaltaPost has invested in providing comprehensive e-fulfilment services.

In 2012 MaltaPost launched SendOn, a service that knocked down specific cross border delivery barriers which prevailed at the time by offering a UK delivery hub address.

Since then, the service has evolved globally to cover the US, Europe and Asia, and has been used by thousands of Maltese online shoppers from stores which do not ship directly to Malta.

SendOn is also a popular delivery medium for businesses who require consignments of different sizes to be delivered from these regions to Malta in a safe and cost effective manner. Insurance options per consignment are also available for greater peace of mind.

In order to meet customers’ demands and to continue minimising e-commerce barriers, MaltaPost has invested in a nationwide network of 24/7 Parcel Lockers positioned in various localities around Malta and Gozo for the convenience of today’s busy consumers who are rarely at home to receive their online shopping.

Thanks to these parcel lockers, clients may opt to have their shopping delivered to a parcel locker of their choice and collect it at any time they like, be it during the day or late at night.

This service was previously only available for customers shopping with SendOn, however this has now been extended to all customers who shop online. These online shoppers can use an Easipik address as their delivery address of choice when buying from their favourite online stores all around the world.

Parcel lockers are very easy to use and are completely secure. To utilise these lockers, clients just need to visit www.maltapost.come/easipik and complete the online registration. Following registration, the user will receive a message authentication to confirm details, and an e-mail including the address and the member’s unique code to use when shopping online. The system will then prompt the use to purchase a bundle of delivery credits. When MaltaPost receives the package, the user will be notified by means of an SMS and email, and will be given a code to key into the locker in order to release his item. This service is applicable for all ordinary and tracked items.

The lockers accommodate parcels of different sizes and are located in the following Post Offices, which are accessible on a 24/7 basis: Birkirkara, Marsa Head Office, Mosta, Rabat, San Ġwann, San Pawl il-Baħar, Sliema (Triq Adrian Dingli), Żabbar, Luqa, Floriana, Valletta and Rabat, Gozo.

MaltaPost is seeking to enhance and update its service to meet the changing demands of the market and will continue to invest in innovative mobile and digital technologies to make the e-commerce processes as easy and convenient as possible for its clients.
