In her letter entitled ‘Disposal of glass bottles’ (The Sunday Times of Malta, September 17), Emily Barbaro Sant claims that bars and restaurants dispose of glass in black plastic bags.

I can only speak for myself, but at my bar we have a green coloured skip where all the glass is collected. Our contractor calls in the early morning and empties the contents into his truck.

I am sure that most catering establishments have adopted this system of glass collection, as we were strictly instructed to do so by the authorities.
