The symphonic band of the Armed Forces of Malta performed at the annual Independence Day concert at Independence Square, Victoria last Sunday. The symphonic band, under the baton of its musical director, Warrant Officer 1 Jonathan Borg, played Overture Light Cavalry (Von Suppe), Ftakar f’Jum Għażiż (Mro Capt Ret. George Debono), Hungarian Dances 5 and 6 (Johannes Brahms), Panoply (Leland Forsblad), Song Without Words Op.66 (Mro Joseph Sammut), L-Assedju (Mro Capt. Ret. Anthony Chircop), King Arthur (Hans Zimmer), Melorhythm (Ernst Hildebrand), Ġgantija (Mro John Galea), Libertango (Astro Piazzolla with Arr. by Jonathan Borg). The concert came to an end with Robert Sammut’s National Anthem.
