BARTOLO – CARMEN JOAN. Surrounded by her family, Carmen passed peacefully away on September 6 at Riverbend Place, Cambridge, Canada, at the age of 81. A resident of Cambridge and formerly of Oshawa. Beloved wife of 54 years to Joseph. Loving mother of Adrian (Simona), Brian (Nicole), Patrick (Michelle), Ian (Kendra). Cherished nanny to Sophie, Joshua, Matthew, Gabriel, William, Eden, Robyn, and Romeo. Dear sister of Tony (Mae) Vella, Sister Emmanuelina Vella, Romeo (Gina) Vella, Josephine (Samson) Leguesse, Emma Peterman. Sister-in-law of Miriam and Vivienne Vella. Survived also by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Vincent and Maria Vella, siblings Fr Diego Vella, Lawrence Vella, Tommy Vella and George Vella (in infancy). Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CASSAR. On September 13, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, VICTORIA, née Farrugia, widow of Alfred (d. 1989), passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Lina and her husband James Moore, Anne, Frank, Miriam, widow of Wayne DiMascio (d. 2012), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Canada, her sisters-in-law Ines Farrugia and Kitty Farrugia, many nieces, nephews and friends in Malta. Funeral Mass is being celebrated on Wednesday, September 20 at 10am at St Margaret Mary church, 20, Idlewood Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, followed by cremation and burial. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

CREMONA. On September 11, Fr EMIDIO CREMONA, aged 94, passed away peacefully in Toronto, Canada. He will be missed by his family in Malta, Canada, UK, US and Australia. A Mass for his repose will be celebrated on Monday, September 25 at 7.15pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira. The attendance of relatives and friends will be much appreciated. May he rest in peace.

Bazaar

The Dominican nuns of Naxxar are holding a bazaar to raise funds for the Immaculate Conception Chapel in the same locality. The bazaar will be held at 49, Main Street, Naxxar from October 2 to 8 and from October 14 to 15 between 8.30 am and noon and from 4.30 to 7pm.
