DEBATTISTA. On September 10, JOSEPH, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, aged 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss, his dearest wife Evelyn, his beloved children Fabian and his wife Alexia, Marica and her husband Adrian Distefano, and Tania and her husband Simon Pullicino, his treasured grandchildren, Marcus, Samuel, Matthias, Jack and Amy, his brothers and sisters and their respective spouses, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13, at 8.15am for St Julian’s parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and carers of the Urology Department of Mater Dei Hospital, Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre and Hospice Malta for all their care, dedication and support.

SAMMUT. On September 9, EDWARD, aged 88 years, passed away peacefully at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his beloved and devoted wife Rose née Tanti, his children Margaret and her husband Charles Borg, Donald and his wife Shirley Anne, Stephen and his partner Anna, Theresa and her husband Denis Vella, Peter and his partner Vanessa, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sisters Alice Calleja and Lucy and her husband Joe Sultana, his in-laws Monica Tanti, Mary Sammut, Louise Tanti, Phyllis and Albert Agius, Oswald and Alice Tanti, Iris Stafrace, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, September 14, at 8.30am, for Santa Venera old parish church (next to St Elias College), where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at San Leone Cemetery, Żurrieq. No flowers by request but donations to Aid to the Church in Need (Malta) and St Joseph’s Home, Santa Venera, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. The family would like to thank the staff at Rehab Ward 3, Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, for their special care and dedication.

ZAMMIT. On September 10, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, LAWRENCE, of Attard, aged 98, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Nathalie and her husband Mario, Marvic and her husband Nicholas, Anna and her husband Pierre, Enrico, widower of Josephine, and Sandra, widow of Lawrence, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his carer Olivia, his brother, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13, at 1.30pm for Attard parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Qormi cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Poor Clares, St Julian’s, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
