The Observatory on Tourism in the European Islands (OTIE) organised its annual summer school at the Institute of Tourism Studies in Qala. Taking part in the summer school were university students and undergraduates from various European countries.

The focus of the programme was event planning and management. Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana addressed the students on the first day of the school, while various lectures were then given by University of Malta professors and Leeds Metropolitan University experts in management.

At the end of the school Gozo Business Chamber president Joseph Grech presented OTIE president Giovanni Ruggieri with a copy of

Gorgeous Gozo in appreciation for OTIE’s regular choice of Gozo for holding its annual summer school for the past five years.

Prof. Ruggieri and his helpers coordinated the summer school with the cooperation of the Gozo Business Chamber and the Institute of Tourism Studies (Gozo).
