• As part of the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady being celebrated in Żebbuġ next Sunday, the parish will be holding two concerts.

Trumpets Shall Sound will be performed at Żebbuġ parish church today at 7.15pm. Jason Camilleri (trumpet), Helge Haukas from Norway (trumpet) and Franco Cefai (organist) will take part. Works by Henry Purcell and G. F. Handel will be performed. The other concert, 20 Sena Anniversarju, is being held at Żebbuġ parish church tomorrow at 8pm. The concert marks the 20th anniversary of the choir. Original music will be performed by two Żebbuġ parish choirs, together with Jacob Portelli on the harp. Both concerts are free.

• Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a night vigil at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary square tomorrow from 8 to 10.15pm, followed by adoration and Midnight Mass. The activity is being organised by the Gozitan Eucharistic Movement. Transport will be available from all parishes. For more information, call 2145 3105. The event will be transmitted live on Radju Marija 102.3FM/107.8FM.

• People will be able to visit Heritage Malta Citadel sites and the Visitor Centre on Tuesday at a combined discounted rate of €2 per person. Tickets valid on the day will only be available from any museum.

• Xagħra Tale, a dance and drama show about the history of the village, is being held in Victory Square, Xagħra, every Wednesday at 9pm. Entrance is free.

• D Capitals Band will give a concert at Marsalforn on Thursday at 9pm.

• The 15th Delicata Classic Wine Festival will be held at Ġnien il-Kunsill, Our Lady of Fatima Street, Nadur, on Friday, Saturday and next Sunday from 7pm onwards. Entrance is free.

• The Summer Sizzler Barbecue fundraising event by the Gozo CCU Foundation will be held at the Cornucopia Hotel in Xagħra on Saturday at 7.30pm. Entertainment will be provided by the Tramps. For more information call Carmen on 7956 6496, Tracy 9936 1268 or William on 7956 3838.

• Stardust Brass will perform at Mgarr on Saturday from 9pm.

• World War I items, including an assortment of cards  -  some bearing censors’ marks – are on show at Il-Ħaġar Museum in Pjazza San Ġorġ, Victoria.

The exhibition is being mounted by the Gozo Philatelic Society. Opening hours are, daily, from 9am to 5pm. Entrance is free.
