A tracer and progression study was recently conducted among students of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast) who graduated from its various institutes in June 2015.

The study’s aim was to determine whether the graduates were gainfully employed in an activity related to their chosen area of study.

The study sought to assess the merits of the college’s vocational training by asking the former students whether what they learnt was applicable in their present daily employment and whether the length of time they spent studying at Mcast bore any relationship with them landing better jobs.

In the case of former Mcast students who were not employed at the time of the survey, the study sought to find out whether they were furthering their studies, and if so, at which educational institutions.

The study was conducted on a pro-bono basis in collaboration with accountancy and business advisory firm PKF as part of the latter’s corporate social responsibility programme. The results of the study were recently presented to Mcast officials.
