Interested in learning about the geoscience of the Maltese islands while enjoying a relaxing day in Gozo? University of Malta academics who are specialists in geoscience will conduct an educational tour in Gozo on the theme on September 2, organised by Malta University Consulting Ltd in collaboration with the University’s Department of Geosciences.

Participants will visit an old underground emergency flour mill at Xlendi that also hosts instruments of the Department of Geosciences. They will learn about the use of its equipment for geology, geophysics and climate and atmospheric science.

During a visit to Dwejra, participants will be given a guided tour of a geological site containing fossils and circular subsidence structures or sinkholes. Participants will also join a boat trip from Dwejra that will visit Fungus Rock.

The fee to take part in this Geosciences Educational and Leisure Day in Gozo is €35 per person. The fee includes all transport in Gozo, the guided tours, entrance to old four mill at Xlendi and the Dwejra boat trip. It does not include the Gozo ferry ticket, lunch and drinks.

Payments can be made online at the website below or by cheque payable to Malta University Consulting Ltd. In case less than 25 people apply to take part, the event will be cancelled and all fees paid will be refunded in full.
