Roma Nuoto yesterday announced on their website that they had signed Malta international waterpolo player Steve Camilleri.

A club statement that the prolific goalscorer was the first major transfer acquisition of the Serie A2 side.

Camilleri was on the books of fellow Serie A1 side Ortigia last season.

His goals were crucial to help the Sicilian side retain their top flight status for another season.

Camilleri’s move to Roma Nuoto further extends his permanence in the Italian league to more than a decade.

After a short stint at Partizan Belgrade, he moved to Bogliasco with whom he spent seven seasons before moving to Sette Scogli. After one season he agreed to join Siclian club Ortigia.
