The Salesian Theatre is holding another free live music event as part of an initiative for the month of August. Tonight’s performing artist is Alexandra Alden.

Born in Malta and raised partly in southern Germany, Alden is a singer-songwriter who now resides in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where she is studying to obtain her bachelor’s degree in jazz music.

Alden plays the guitar, alternating between delicate fingerpicking and strumming.

Citing various greats as her inspiration, including Joni Mitchell, Bill Callahan, Bob Dylan, Fiona Apple, Led Zeppelin, Chris Whitley, Emiliana Torrini, Anne Briggs, Bert Jansch, Nick Drake and John Martyn, Alden conveys a message which is very often one of hope.

She has been described as having a unique timbre and colour.

The concert is being held tonight at the Salesian Theatre in Sliema at 8pm. This is a standing event but a limited number of tables are available. Tables can be booked at a charge via booking@tsmalta.com. For more information about future events, visit the Teatru Salesjan Facebook page.
