CARUANA GALIZIA. On July 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Paula née Selvagi and John Paul, God’s precious gift of a son – NICHOLAS, a most welcome brother to Ben and Alex. Deo gratias et Mariæ. Special thanks go to all the dedicated staff at the Delivery Suite and Obstetrics Ward 1.

LAWRENCE-PACE. Laura and Thomas are delighted to announce the birth of their son – COSMO PATRICK HUMPHREY, born on July 27 in London.

Obituaries

AGIUS. On July 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, ELVIRA (Vivi), aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband Michael, her children Vince and his wife Maria and Louise and her husband Mark Critchley, her dearest grandson Zachary, her brothers, sisters and in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Mater Dei Hospital’s MAU 3 Ward and the staff at Hospice Malta, Balzan, for their care and dedication. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BONNICI. On August 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, DOMENIC, residing at Dar il-Madonna tal-Mellieha, aged 94, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rosina, his sister Furta and her husband Charles, his children Pauline and her husband Charles, Nathalie and her husband Mario, Vincent and his wife Sina, Lina and her husband Paul, Anna and her husband Charles and Tania and her husband Silvio, his grandchildren, Jason, Niki, Gordon, Alycia, Robert, Lara, Christine, Steve, Lisa, Vanessa and Beppe, his great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, August 8 for St Dominic’s parish church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On August 3, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncological Centre, San Ġwann, PETER, of Gżira, aged 62, widower of Marlene, née Scicluna, passed peacefully away after a long illness borne with great fortitude and faith in the Lord. Deeply missed by his devoted sons Andrew and his fiancée Sara, and Mark, his much loved brothers Michel and his wife Miriam, Robert and his wife Rose, Simon and his wife Josanne, and their children Christian, Kenneth, David, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Malcolm, Nigel, Steven, and Alexander, as well as his brother-in-law Pio and his wife Rose and their children Gianluca and Francesco, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Monday, August 7, at 8.45am for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15 am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CILIA. On August 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 79, of Rabat, ex-footballer of Malta, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Mario and his wife Marisa, Raymond and his wife Olivia and Steven and his partner Carol, his brothers Paul and his wife Maria, Salvinu and his wife Doris, and John and his wife Rose, residing in Australia, many nephews and nieces, relatives and in-laws, friends and colleagues. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, August 8 at 3.30pm for St Paul collegiate parish church, Rabat, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 4pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Margherita cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

TESTA. On August 5, JOSEPHINE, of San Ġwann, aged 87, widow of John Michael, passed peacefully away at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Raymond and his wife Marianne, Marianne and her husband Joe, Martin and his wife Mary, Michael, her grandchildren Reu­ben, Jeffrey, Sean, Yasmine, Alessia and Krizia, brother-in-law Joseph and his wife Connie and their respective families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, August 8 at 7.45am for the Our lady of Lourdes in San Ġwann, where Mass praesente cadavare will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
