A truck driver with a heady load to bear has been filmed inching under road signage on Marsa's Triq Aldo Moro, in yet another example of cavalier driving on Maltese roads.

In footage sent to Times of Malta, the precariously loaded truck can be seen as it rolls forward in the Addolorata Cemetery direction of the busy Marsa thoroughfare.

As it approaches metres-high signage, the truck visibly slows down and inches forward, clearing the signs with just centimetres to spare.

The truck driver in question was not alone in disregarding road safety rules related to overloading. Another photo sent to Times of Malta today showed how a driver of a smaller truck had an entire car hoisted onto the back of his vehicle.

Earlier this week, a driver of another overloaded truck smashed drainage pipes he was carrying into the top of Kirkop tunnel. Transport Malta subsequently said the driver would be coughing up for repair works and paying a fine.

Times of Malta has provided road safety authorities with a copy of video and images of the two trucks.
