The American University of Malta has reserved 10 student places for a four-year course for local scholarship awardees.
The 10 scholarships will allow students to enrol in courses leading to a bachelor of science in accounting, business administration or game development. Awardees will also receive a regular student stipend from the government.
In its statement, the government said the 10 AUM scholarships amounted to a total of more than €300,000 and formed part of the €120 million deal signed between AUM investors Sadeen Group and the government.
The AUM's Cospicua campus is expected to open next month, with the government hoping the new academic institution will provide prospective students with a broader choice of undergraduate courses.
AUM tuition fees for Maltese undergraduate students are set at €7,750 a year for the upcoming academic year.
Scholarship applications are open until August 20 on www.edu.gov.mt/aum.
