A 38-year-old German woman today admitted to slightly injuring a police officer while resisting arrest at a St Julian’s bar last night.

Janine Voigt pled guilty to the charges and was handed a six-month jail-term, which was suspended for two years.

Sources said Ms Voigt acted aggressively after she was approached by police who allegedly caught her smoking inside the bar.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale also fined the woman €4000.
