• Today, San Lawrenz celebrates the feast of its patron saint with a pontifical Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at 9am. Qala archpriest emeritus, Can. Joe Zammit will deliver the panegyric. Masses will be said at 5.30am, 7am, 11am and 6pm. Solemn vespers in Maltese will be led by Għarb archpriest Mgr Trevor Sultana at 7pm with the participation of the Levita Laurentius choir, followed by marches by the La Stella band. At 7.45pm, La Stella Band will play the titular hymn of Luigi Billion, composed by Mro Giuseppe Giardini Vella, followed by a concert at the main square. The procession with the statue of St Lawrence, accompanied by the Victory band, will take place at 8pm. At the end of the procession there will be a fireworks display.• An evening of talent and entertainment for all the family will be held at Qala parish church square today at 7.30pm. A similar event will be held tomorrow at 8.30pm.

• Cash and Band will give a concert at Marsalforn, today, at 10pm.

• The Gozo Youth Orchestra will present the 10th edition of ‘Opera vs Pop Under the Stars’ at Villa Rundle Gardens, Victoria, tomorrow, at 8.30pm. The concert will feature soprano Pamela Agius, bass Noel Galea and pop singer Ludwig Galea. They will be joined by guest singers Francesco Joseph Nicodeme, Francesca Sciberras, Jolene Samhan and Stanley Joe Portelli. The first part of the programme will consist of classical and operatic songs and arias, followed by an array of lighter pop arrangements from soundtracks and musicals in the second part. • The Ite ad Joseph band will give a concert at the parish square in Qala on Tuesday at 9pm.

• The Victoria Scout Group will be holding a barbecue and camp fire at the Dwejra campsite on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Tickets may be obtained by calling 2155 6497 or 7955 5844 (group scout leader) by tomorrow.

• The Oasi Foundation will be presenting its 26th edition of Riflessi Sajfin at Marsalforn on Saturday at 8pm. The festival includes song and dance performances by local artists.

• The Gozo Ceramics Festival will be held for the fifth year in Xlendi on Saturday from 7.30pm. Ceramic artists, as well as skilled craftsmen, will demonstrate their talents and skills.

• The Gozo Philatelic Society has set up a new exhibit of a selection of Malta stamps and covers  featuring music on level -1 at Il-Ħaġar Museum, Pjazza San Ġorġ,  Victoria. Opening hours, daily, from 9am to 5pm. Entrance is free.

• The Summer Sizzler BBQ fundraising event by the Gozo CCU Foundation will be held on August 19 at the Cornucopia Hotel in Xagħra at 7.30pm. Entertainment will be provided by the Tramps. For more information call Carmen on 7956 6496, Tracy 9936 1268 or William on 7956 3838.
