The promenade known as Tal-Għażżelin in St Paul's Bay has been renovated, embellishing a major tourist spot in the north of the island.

The area lends itself to the enjoyment of natural scenes, while leading up to the Wignacourt Tower, an imposing structure that dates back to 1610.

Major works on the promenade were initially carried out in 2010. However, with the passing of time, the material used had deteriorated, because of exposure to sunlight and sea spray and the presence of other elements that caused constant erosion.

The Malta Tourism Authority intervened in renewing the 800 metre-stretch by installing a new type of material.

Tha MTA said it will issue a public tender at a later date to ensure that the promenade is further embellished.
