Three Gozo Ministry employees have been suspended following allegations of irregularities in road construction tenders given between 2004 and now.

The ministry said in a statement it reported the allegations to the police and a magisterial inquiry was ordered.

The first report was made in November 2014 and other reports were made in recent weeks.

The police were given full access to the computers and documents of the three employees about whom the allegations were made.

The ministry said it will continue to cooperate fully with the police and would not tolerate any abuse.
