Frederick Mifsud Bonnici has been appointed non-executive chairman of APS Bank. He succeeds Emmanuel P. Delia, who retires after 18 years at the helm. Joseph C. Caruana also retired as dDirector.

A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England & Wales), Mifsud Bonnici’s career spans 42 years, mostly as a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers from where he retired in 2011 as assurance leader.

He served as non-executive chairman of Bank of Valletta, Mapfre MSV Life and as a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of Medbank Group Limited and its subsidiary Mediterranean Bank. He was also chairman of the Malta Stock Exchange and president of the Malta Institute of Accountants, on which council he sat for over 32 years.

Other board positions held include Malita Investments and Malta Freeport Corporation. He retains the position of non-executive chairman of Blevins Franks Trustees. Mifsud Bonnici is also a member of the SMOM.
