Seeking consensus and approbation about inoffensive, politically-correct, risk-averse subjects, users of social media reek of moral, aesthetic and intellectual death.
So scared are they of voicing an opinion, any opinion, which might attract the disapproval of the hive-mind that you can almost feel the life and energy getting sucked out of any rational argument you’d have the ‘insensitivity’ to post online.
Social media is essentially a day-care centre for lobotomised adult children who have no conception or understanding of a world outside of their monotonous and pathetic routine. Blind to real beauty, insensitive to humour, superstitious, frivolous and utterly incapable of understanding reason or articulating opinion, these smiling morons spend their time online posting ‘selfies’ and fishing for compliments or sympathy.
By this I mean that social media is worse than useless; it is detrimental to everything human beings once held dear. Things like mental sobriety, moral integrity, consistency, honesty, strength of character, good humour and a loving and generous nature have now given way to vulgar preening and posturing, confused and incoherent provocations, and a pathological narcissism that would make a rich socialite laugh uneasily and look around in embarrassment.
What a disgusting online world we have created for ourselves.
