A smorgasbord of delicacies set up under a fleet of stalls and tents will take over Mdina as the third edition of the Malta International Food Festival begins today.

Visitors will virtually transport themselves to different countries and regions, as these are interpreted through the culinary expertise of various chefs. Those attending will be able to indulge in freshly-prepared American, Chinese, Japanese, German, Brazilian, Asian, Indian, Italian, Spanish, Greek and, of course, Maltese dishes.

Entrance is free of charge. Patrons will be able to purchase tokens and redeem them for any food they wish. Drinks, including a variety of quality wines, will also be on sale. Live music performances on two stages will entertain the crowd. Children will also have their share with activities and ongoing animation.

Under the Mooon, a new concept focusing on entertainment in unique scenarios, will be hosting the entertainment area. The programme sees the Triq Cinemoon Festival, with the theme ‘Dinner Time’ tonight at 8.30pm; a special edition of Horizon featuring Red Electrick & Disco Diaries tomorrow from 6pm to 11pm; while Café Society will host an evening of funk, soul and deep house with three deejays from Paris on Sunday.

The Malta International Food Festival is being held in Mdina from 6pm today  till midnight on Sunday. A park and ride service will be available from Triq l-Infetti, right beneath Mdina.
