The following are the top stories in national newspapers today.

Times of Malta says drugs were found in a culvert outside Corradino Correction Facility and in the same week inmates were caught with illegal substances and mobile phones in their cells. In another story, it says Opposition leader Simon Busuttil vowed to keep up his fight for justice in the face of a criminal complaint by the Prime Minister’s top aide, which he said was an attempt to silence him.

In-Nazzjon also leads with Dr Busuttil’s press conference quoting the PN leader saying he would continue to fight for democracy.

The Malta Independent says Alex Perici Calascione, one of the contenders for the PN leadership, wants an internal debate on the validity of the coalition with the Democratic Party once the leadership race is over.

L-Orizzont says the Public Accounts Committee has been requested to investigate the National Audit Office on two controversial land contracts carried out by the former Nationalist administration.
