Allow me to refer to the letter titled ‘A monument for Edwin’ by Michael Borg Cardona (July 12) wherein the following was stated: “Well, I strongly urge the Nationalist Party, and indeed all members of Parliament, to find Edwin Vassallo guilty as charged...”

During a 16-year service as a member of the Floriana local council on behalf of the PN, I was once harshly publicly criticised by Vassallo (who was then the party’s local councils coordinator) for having publicly censured a fellow Floriana councillor and shouted that my deportment at the time was ‘not on’.

What should I reply to him now on seeing that he called the party leader “a totalitarian dictator” in public?

The party’s administrative council should chuck him out for breach of ethics.
