On June 15 at 10.30pm I was on the Bus X1 stage at the airport. The printed timetable and the electronic signage were showing that the last bus was due at 10.50pm. An X1 bus did arrive a few minutes before the scheduled time and stopped for five minutes but the driver would not let me and about another 15 people on board the bus because, he assured us, it was not his turn. The supervisor/dispatcher (or so it seemed) told us to wait and soon left with this X1.

At one point, the electronic signage did not display Bus X1 any longer. We waited until 11.15pm but the scheduled X1 bus never arrived. All of us stranded passengers had no option but to queue up to get a costly taxi to our destination.

On the morrow, I lodged a report (no. 144943) with Transport Malta and was told to call within a week for a clarification. I called 10 days later but the man at customer care told me he had no explanation whatsoever.

Of course, I and the fellow stranded passengers can never trust public transport again. Besides, its customer care is simply a joke.
