Sea sludge has reappeared in the popular St Julian's bay this morning as can be seen in the photo above submitted by a reader.

Following the reappearance of the dreaded sea slime last month, the Environment Authority said this could be a natural phenomenon which had also been noted in other parts of the Mediterranean, dismissing theories that the slime was being created by the fish farms.

Similar reports of slime in March had also been dismissed by the Parliamentary Secretary who said preliminary results of a scientific investigation showed this to be natural foam caused by strong winds and high seas.
