I refer to Michael Owen’s completely and utterly wrong representation of the UK government’s position, both in the treatment of EU citizens and the Grenfell Towers fire (July 12).

Jeremy Corbyn and his cronies tried to score cheap political points off the back of the suffering of other people, caused by cladding on towers built during various administrations since the 1970s. Owen obviously lives in a village – Żejtun – and reads the local rag. He should try educating himself better and widen his horizons before he spits out venom at his object of hate.

Like Corbyn and his cronies, Owen is still feeling sore about Labour losing the election. Corbyn calls it “not winning” because it sticks in his gullet.

Owen is so ignorant about politics thathe cannot even distinguish between the IRAterrorists, who Corbyn and John McDonnell (his sidekick) supported, and the Hamas terrorists, who Corbyn invited to the UK, and the DUP who were their victims.

Corbyn can’t even get himself to sing the national anthem, he hates the Queen (he’s a republican) and wants to scrap Britain’s defences and Nato!

It’s little wonder that, even with all their deficiencies and own goals, the Tories scored a decisive victory over Labour, outnumbering them by 55 seats.

Owen should crawl back into his little hole and wake up when this great country leaves the EU and becomes self-governing again. And, please, resist any temptation of ever coming back.

But, then, living in a place where the temperature hits 40˚C and probably drinking lots of cheap wine has its corrosive effect.
