As part of a series of lectures on European drama, the Salesian Theatre in Sliema is tomorrow hosting a lecture on the medieval period and the early modern age, covering, among others, dramatists Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare.

The lecture particularly focuses on Marlowe’s tragedy Doctor Faustus, which follows a man who is prepared to sell his very soul and risk damnation in the pursuit of learning.

These lectures are led by Tony Gardner, formerly the course director of the BA Theatre Studies and MA Creative Industries at a leading London university. No previous knowledge of drama is necessary so all those interested can attend these lectures.

This week’s lecture will be held tomorrow at the Salesian Theatre in Sliema from 7pm to 9pm. For more information, log on to: https://tsmalta.com/european-drama-the-renaissance.
