Bright Conferences, based in Brisbane and founded by Nadine Zrinzo and Lisa Renneisen, has been selected as Queensland finalist for the 2017 Telstra Business Awards, running in the Micro Business of the Year category. They will be among the 28 finalists at the glittering Telstra Queensland Business Awards finals on July 14.

Bright Conferences is competing with its flagship event generationYOU, a one-day event to help millennials bridge the gap between education and the workplace, also offering a digital programme for new graduates.

Ms Zrinzo’s love for organising conferences started in Malta with the economics students association called AIESEC. Having spent a few years working in London as conference production executive and onto the path of freelancing, she moved to Brisbane.

In 2010, she founded Bright Conferences, which started as a corporate events company. It wasn’t long before she realised Bright’s unique opportunity to bring people together to discuss, connect, share and learn from each other.

At this point Ms Renneisen, a marketing and techie guru, joined in and together they aim to facilitate “awesome learning experiences” for millennials and create future leaders through generationYou.

“It is exciting to have our efforts and achievements recognised. Being a finalist at the Telstra Business Awards is a real testimony to our determination and passion, which drives our enterprising spirit. Of course, we would not be where we are today without the assistance of our staff, friends, family and the Bright community,” said Ms Zrinzo.

Celebrating 25 years in 2017, the Telstra Business Awards are the longest-running programme honouring the achievements of Australia’s best small and medium businesses and more recently, charities as well.
