The appointment of l-Orizzont's editor to a post in the Office of the Prime Minister confirms how Joseph Muscat wanted to sow division, the Nationalist Party said today.

In the last months, Josef Caruana had relentlessly attacked the Nationalist Party, journalists, the Church and anybody who dared to express an opinion, the PN said in a statement.

One editorial referred to journalists from Times of Malta and The Malta Independent, saying they had "worked against the progress of the country", calling them deviants, traitors and saying they should "disappear" after Labour won a second term.Ironically,

Ironically, Dr Muscat had said he did not agree with the language used in the editorials, following which, the General Workers' Union, the owner of the newspaper, even dissociated itself from the editorial comments.

Instead of condemning his actions and dissociating himself from the editorials, Dr Muscat had now shown that he was in approval and given Mr Caruana a job.

"The appointment shows that Muscat's talk about national unity is nothing but empty soundbites designed for the media," the PN charged.
