Ki: Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng will miss the start of the Premier League campaign due to a knee injury, the Welsh club have confirmed. The South Korea captain sustained the injury during last month’s 3-2 win at Qatar in their 2018 World Cup qualifier and underwent a minor operation after returning to his country. There is no set timeline for the 28-year-old’s recovery.

Morrison: Former West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison is training with Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham, the Championship club have confirmed. The 24-year-old is still on the books of Serie A outfit Lazio but has not played for them in over 12 months and finished last term on loan with QPR. Redknapp took Morrison on loan to Rangers himself when he was manager there in 2014.

McGinn: Former Aberdeen winger Niall McGinn has joined South Korean side Gwangju after his deal at Pittodrie expired. The 29-year-old, who earned his 50th cap for Northern Ireland last season, was a free agent following five years with the Dons and has chosen to move to Asia for the next step in his career. A link with K-League club Gwangju is because the father of McGinn’s former Celtic team-mate Ki Sung-yueng is the club’s president.

Motta: Veteran midfielder Thiago Motta has agreed a one-year contract extension with Paris St Germain, the Ligue 1 club have announced. The 34-year-old former Barcelona and Inter Milan player had been linked with a return to Italy after his previous deal expired last week. This will take him into a sixth season in the French capital.
