The Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club, in collaboration with the Malta Tennis Federation, is organising the European Under-14 tournament between July 8 and 15.

The tournament will feature a singles tournament for both boys and girls players with the main draw in each category formed by 48 entrants.

A doubles competition is also being organised in both categories.

As in previous years, this international tournament has once again attracted a lot of interest from junior players across Europe.

Tennis players from Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, Romania, Latvia, Cyprus, Sweden, Denmark, France, Czech Republic, Israel, Slovakia, Turkey, Hungary and Greece will be participating.

The Malta contingent at the tournament is formed by Alex Degabriele, Matthew Griscti, Daniel Soler, Forbes Hollingsworth and Emma Mallia.

The signing-in for the qualifying draw will be held on Friday between 4pm and 6pm while the registration of the the main draw is pencilled for July 9 at the same time.

The first matches from the qualifying round will be held on July 8 while the tournament proper gets underway on July 10.

The tournament finals will be played on July 15.
