Rangers: UEFA has confirmed it has opened disciplinary proceedings against Rangers after objects were allegedly thrown during their return to European football on Thursday. The Light Blues secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Luxembourg’s Progres Nieder-korn in the Europa League first qualifying round on Thursday at Ibrox. However, the Glasgow club will now be the subject of a disciplinary case after UEFA revealed it was investigating the throwing of objects during the qualifying-round tie.

Benfica: Arsenal’s 19-year-old forward Chris Willock has joined Benfica. The England Under-19 international, who has not made a Premier League appearance for the Gunners, has moved to the Portuguese side on a five-year deal. “I hope I can show what I can do on the pitch. I think we have a great team and we can achieve great things in the future,” Willock said on the Benfica website.

Pavlenka: Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Slavia Prague goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka. The Bundesliga side announced they had struck a deal for the Czech Republic international last week. And yesterday Pavlenka officially put pen to paper after completing a medical.

Padelli: Inter have signed goalkeeper Daniele Padelli as a free agent after his contract with Torino expired. The 31-year-old had been with the Granata since 2013, but was second to Joe Hart last season. His contract was allowed to expire and Padelli has now been registered as an Inter player with the Lega Serie A. Padelli was previously on the books of Sampdoria, Crotone and Udinese.
