• Consumers who purchase goods or services off premises and spend over €30 have 14 days to change their mind and cancel the sale.

• Consumers must be properly informed about the cooling-off period or the right to cancel the sale is extended to a year.

• Consumers should present proof that they exercised their cancellation rights within the stipulated time limit.

• Reimbursement of payments to consumers must be effected within 14 days from date of cancellation.

• In off-premises sales, a deposit of up to 10 per cent may be requested only after the 14-day cooling off period expires.

• Disputes related to off-premises purchases may be lodged with the Office for Consumer Affairs.
