Malta international defender Sam Magri has swapped clubs ahead of the new season after signing for newly-promoted Ebbsfleet United, in the National League.

Last year, Magri featured for Dover Athletic in the National League as well, helping them challenge for the play-offs.

Magri will join the squad ahead of their pre-season training camp in Portugal.

The 23-year old defender started his career as a youth player at Portsmouth.

He also represented England from U-16 to U-19 level.

After leaving Fratton Park, he joined the ranks at Queens Park Rangers before being sent on loan to Nuneaton and also Crystal Palace, where he formed part of the reserve squad.

Magri made his senior debut with the national team on November 11, in the 1-0 defeat at home to Slovenia

He is the second Maltese international to seek pastures new, after forward Andre Schembri left Boavista for Apollon Limassol this summer.
