Mitchell Weiser’s sole goal proved enough for Germany to secure their second Under-21 championship, as they defeated favourites Spain in Krakow, yesterday. The German side could have increased their lead as Max Meyer hit the woodwork while Bayern Munich’s new signing Serge Gnabry went close to score twice. The first championship won by Germany was back in 2009, when they hammered England 4-0 in Sweden.
