Floriana chances of progressing to the second qualifying round of the Europa League look dim following a 3-0 defeat to Red Star yesterday.

Floriana were dealt a double-blow just before half-time as they conceded a penalty with Enzo Ruiz earning a straight red card as Richmond Boakye converted from the spot.

Twelve minutes from time,  Nenad Milijas supplied a teasing cross from the left corner and Slavoljub Srnic headed it over Justin Haber, after the Floriana goalkeeper had cleared it temporarily.

Floriana fell 3-0 behind after Haber flapped at the ball from  another Milijas corner, for Boakye to prod the ball home from close by.

In Hungary, Balzan lost 2-0 against Videoton with both goals coming late in the match.

Videoton could have taken the lead on 73 minutes when Marko Scepovic took charge of a penalty following an Alfred Effiong foul.

However, the striker hit the post but they still forged ahead moments later as Scepovic atoned for his early miss to place the ball behind Ivan Janjusevic.

In the dying minutes, former PSV Eindhoven striker Danko Lazovic added another one from the rebound after Janjusevic had cleared the danger momentarily.
