Following the success of Michelangelo: Love and Death, Eden Cinemas will be hosting another screening, in collaboration with local artist LeMakoo, who added a splash of colour to the cinema foyer with his pop up art gallery before the show.

Spanning 89 years, the show takes a cinematic journey from the print and drawing rooms of Europe through the great chapels and museums of Florence, Rome and the Vatican to explore the tempestuous life of Michelangelo, one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance.

It goes in search of a greater understanding of this most charismatic figure, his relationship with his contemporaries and his immense artistic practice that included painting, sculpture and architecture.

Among the works explored are the David in Florence, the Sistine Chapel in Rome and the Manchester Madonna (today at the National Gallery).

Michelangelo: Love and Death is being shown today at Eden Cinemas at 8.45pm.  For tickets, visit www.edencinemas.com.mt.
