The Malta Business Bureau will hold a conference on energy efficiency for business and industry today.

The conference will outline Malta’s and the EU’s vision for energy efficiency, and the role that businesses play in that vision.

It will provide an explanation of energy auditing and the benefits it has for businesses. The conference will also showcase several best practice case studies where energy performance improvements have been beneficial for business, by both national and international companies.

The conference will also include the first presentation of data from a report into the energy performance by Malta’s non-SMEs, examining implications of compliance measures relating to the Energy Efficiency Directive.

Speakers include Joe Mizzi, Minister for Energy and Water, MEP Miriam Dalli, Frank V. Farrugia, president of the Malta Chamber, as well as representatives from the MBB, the Energy and Water Agency, Transport Malta, the MHRA, Equinox Advisory, EuroChambers, Mcast and various business representatives.

The Investing in Energy Project is run by the Malta Business Bureau in partnership with the Energy and Water Agency and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, with co-financing from the Regulator for Energy and Water Services and the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Business.

Today, the conference will be held at the Malta Chamber, Exchange Buildings, 64, Republic Street, Valletta, at 9.30am.
