A mixed-media exhibition by David Grima entitled arbanġ (“inanimate, animate, all is one”) is currently on at St James Cavalier. Through photographs, radiographic imaging and thread, the exhibition aims to understand the hidden synergy which we, as living organisms, share with all others – both the animate and the inanimate. At its core, it is an exploration into the pleomorphism of all that is, probing into the associations between the observable and that which is hidden.

The works are separated into different rooms, which embody the eventual morphosis of the elemental and the material, into the animate and the eventual realisation that all is one.

They reflect the universality of all life and highlight the importance of cherishing and preserving our delicate earth in light of our transitory experience of life.

Literature by Clifford Jo Zahra accompanies the works.

Arbanġ runs at St James Cavalier in Valletta until August 13. The project is supported by the Malta Arts Fund – Project Support Grant and is part of the Spazju Kreattiv season programme. For more information, visit www.kreattivita.org.
