Early last December, my wife was diagnosed with melanoma in her brain and she is bedridden. We applied for home help on December 29, 2016. No home help has arrived since, notwithstanding tens of telephone calls from the Department for the Elderly and Community Care, assessments and visits by the supervisor. I would appreciate if the minister in charge of this department would inform me on how long I would have to wait before I see a helper in my home.

If the government cannot supply this service, it should find other ways and means to relieve the hardship people like us go through, such as reducing the tax to those who fund their own helper.
