A suicide bomber who was planning an attack on the Grand Mosque in Mecca blew himself up when security forces surrounded a house where he was hiding, security services in Saudi Arabia have said.
Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry said both sides exchanged fire before the man set off the bomb inside the house where he was hiding.
It's believed the militant used the building as the base for the attack.
Six residents and five security personnel were injured and the building collapsed.
Five suspects, including a woman, have been arrested.
It wasn't immediately clear who was behind the plot.
However, the Islamic State group has in the past carried out attacks in the kingdom.
