Man Utd: Juventus scouting manager Javier Ribalta is moving to Manchester United, Press Association Sport understands. Planning is well under way for the 2017-18 season, with Benfica’s Victor Lindelof the only player to have so far arrived at Old Trafford. However, United have managed to strengthen their backroom team as Ribalta will join them from Juventus, where he has worked for the past five years.

Casteels: Wolfsburg have extended the contract of first-choice goalkeeper Koen Casteels until the summer of 2021. The former Belgium Under-21 international has made 41 appearances for the German club since arriving from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim in 2015. He featured 24 times in all competitions last season as the Wolves narrowly escaped relegation with a play-off victory over Braunschweig.

Doan: Gamba Osaka who features in the Japanese J-League attacking midfielder Ritsu Doan has secured a move to Dutch club FC Groningen on a season-long loan deal, the J-League side yesterday. The 19-year-old Japanese helped his country win the under-19 Asian championship title for the first time last year and was named the tournament’s best player.

Higgins: Kilmarnock have signed former Dundee defender Daniel Higgins just 24 hours after he quit Dens Park. The 19-year-old former Celtic trainee made just four appearances for the Dark Blues last season after joining from the Hoops in February. But he is looking forward to having more opportunities with Killie. “It feels good to be here, as it’s a club that’s definitely going in the right direction,” Higgins told Kilmarnock’s website.
