Following concerts by the Valletta International Baroque Ensemble (VIBE), the London-based EO Nomine vocal ensemble and harpsichordist Luca Ferrini together with violinist Črtomir Šiškovič, the baroque week at the Victoria International Arts Festival is coming to an end this weekend. Closing it off are two concerts by top European prizewinners Le Jardin Musical.

Tonight’s concert will focus lovely works composed for mandolin and string ensemble. The second one, taking place tomorrow, will highlight the golden age of the viola d’amore.

Vincent Beer-Demander and Pierre Henri Xuereb will be soloists respectively for each concert.  Works to be performed include Vivaldi, Barbella, Roeser and Purcell.

Entrance is free and both concerts will take place at St George’s Basilica, at 8pm. VIAF is sponsored by the GCSP within Arts Council Malta. For more information, visit www.viaf.org.mt.
