Two partners in crime who admitted to crimes related to robbing a Golden Harvest factory in Gżira were today conditionally discharged by a magistrate's court.

Leonard Seisun, 32, and his accomplice Helen Agius, 39, both admitted to their involvement in the offence which took place five years ago. Mr Seisun stood accused of the theft, while Ms Agius was accused of complicity by providing the getaway car.

Before magistrate Ian Farrugia, both accused admitted to the aggravated theft of aluminium and other objects belonging to the bakery owners.

The court took into account the fact that the two had admitted to the crime in open court and that they had each handed over €250 to the victim by way of compensation.

The court deemed it “equitable and just” to discharge the pair on condition that they did not commit another crime in 18 months.

Inspector Saviour Baldacchino prosecuted.
