Nadur’s Mnarja Philharmonic Band is holding its annual symphonic concert entitled Big Band Adventures at St Peter and St Paul’s Square, Nadur, today at 9pm.

The event is being organised by the Mnarja Philharmonic Society in collaboration with the Nadur Local Council and the Ministry for Gozo to mark the feast of St Peter and St Paul – patron saints of Nadur. The concert also commemorates the 50th anniversary since the Mnajra Band’s inception and 25 years under the musical direction of Joseph Grech.

This year’s concert includes musical arrangements of Barcellona, Hans Zimmer Movie Milestones, The Best of Abba and The Boney M. Megamix. The band will also accompany Gozitan band The Travellers on their hit song Semplicità.

Other guest singers include Gozitan singers Christine Camilleri and Ruth Portelli Bezzina and Italian pop singer Francesco Joseph Nicodeme.

The public is invited to attend and entrance is free of charge. A reception will follow the concert.
