GRECH. On June 14, in Gozo, PHILIP GRECH, MBE, aged 89, passed away peacefully. He will be sadly missed by his only daughter Lisa Grech, his adored grandchildren Oliver and Lola, his brother Frank and his wife Aida, Sophie, widow of Philip’s brother Tony, Lisa’s mother Jennifer, his nephews Chris, Nicky, Mark, Philip, Kenneth, Adrian and nieces Moira, Vanessa, Suzanne, Sonja, Angela, Maryanne, Mabel and Sandra and other relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will be held today at 2pm at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Inspire Foundation Malta will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
MIFSUD. On June 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, Rev Mgr Lawrence Mifsud, of Vittoriosa and residing in Siġġiewi, ex-rector at St John’s Co-Cathedral, went to meet the Risen Lord at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn his loss his dear sister Helen, who took great care of him, Adelina and Francis, Rose and Ignatius, Lino and Rose, Cathy and Charlie, Tony and Doreen, his dear nephews and nieces and their families, the College of the Metropolitan Chapter, numerous priests, parishioners and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Thursday, June 22, at 2pm for Siġġiewi where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at St Nicholas parish church at 4pm. He will be buried in the family grave at St Lawrence Cemetery, Vittoriosa. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
THORP – Lady DOREEN MARY, widow of Sir John, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 17, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, aged 99. Funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Friday, June 23 at 10.30am at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Valletta, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would appreciate if instead of flowers donations be sent to the Anglican Chaplaincy in Malta and Gozo. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

An antique furniture and household decorative items sale is being held at the St Helen Parish Centre, Birkirkara (behind the basilica) from Tuesday, June 27 to Sunday, July 2. Opening hours will be daily between 9am and 12 noon and 5 to 7.30pm – Thursday, Saturday and Sunday morning only.
