Low-cost airline Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will introduce weekly flights between Malta and Belfast and Malta and Birmingham in summer next year.

Jet2.com will thus operate flights between Malta and seven UK airports next summer.

The airline also flies between Malta and Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, East Midlands, Glasgow and Manchester.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “This will be our biggest summer programme, giving holidaymakers more choice and flexibility than ever with our award-winning airline and package holiday operator. Such sustained growth is only possible by looking after our customers, which shows that our continued investment into offering great value package holidays and family friendly flights is working. Our success across our new and existing bases proves that our formula is the right one.”

Alan Borg, CEO of Malta International Airport said: “We’re delighted with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ decision to continue developing their network in Malta, particularly since the United Kingdom is Malta’s top tourist market. With 7 routes being operated next year, this announcement comes at an opportune moment, when many travellers are seeking a new destination for their next holiday.”
