The Victoria International Arts Festival (VIAF) will be launching an exciting Baroque Week this evening in Gozo.

The first concert in the series is by the Valletta International Baroque Ensemble with works by Corelli, Albinoni, Porpora and Vivaldi.

Tomorrow, the professional vocal ensemble Eo Nomine will give a recital entitled ‘The English Connection’.  These two concerts will be held at St George’s Basilica, Victoria.

On Wednesday, at the Aula Mgr G. Farrugia, a violin and harpsichord recital will be conducted by Italian Luca Ferrini and Slovenian Crtomir Siskovic.

Works performed on the day will include Tartini’s famous Sonata in G Minor – Il Trillo del Diavolo.

The prestigious 1775 Antunes model harpsichord, housed at St George’s Basilica, will be played during the concerts.

All performances start at 8pm. VIAF is assisted by the Gozo Cultural Support Programme within the Arts Council Malta.
