• Today, Fontana celebrates the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Pontifical Mass, led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, will be concelebrated at 9am. Fr Emanuel Cordina, Oasi director general, will celebrate Mass at 5.30pm, followed by vespers, led by Mgr Ruzar G. Borg, at 6.30pm. Agostinian Prior Fr Adeodato Schembri will lead the procession, accompanied by the La Stella Band. The St Margaret Band will give a concert on the church square at 8.30pm. The Ite Ad Joseph Band closes the celebration, followed by fireworks.

On Friday, the liturgical feast of the Sacred Heart, there will be a day of adoration. Bishop Grech leads an hour of adoration for all clergy at 5pm, followed by a concelebration Mass, with the participation of the Chorus Urbanus, directed by Mro John Galea, at 6.30pm. Gozo vicar general and Cathedral archdeacon, Mgr Tarcisio Camilleri, will lead a procession with the Blessed Sacrament.

• The new mosaics featuring the mysteries of the rosary on Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary parvis will be blessed today. Bishop Grech, together with Archbishop Charles Scicluna and Bishop George Bugeja, will lead the rosary aux flambeaux and Marian chants at 7.30pm. President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca will attend. The ceremony will be broadcast on Radju Marija 102.3 or 107.8 FM.

• The Arka Foundation will today be holding the last car boot sale until the autumn at the main Marsalforn car park from 7am. No booking is required. A €10 donation per car space is payable on the day. Proceeds from the entrance fee will be donated to Arka Respite Centre which promotes the welfare of people with special needs and of their families, www.arkafoundation.org.

• A blood donation session will be held at the Gozo General Hospital Out-patients Department on Tuesday from 1pm to 5pm.

•The feast of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu will be celebrated on Thursday. Masses will be said at 5, 6, 7, and 11.15am and at 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Bishop Mario Grech will lead a Pontifical Mass at 9am. Bishop George Bugeja, ofm, will lead a pontifical Mass at 8pm. There will be a silent adoration between 12.30 and 5pm, followed by an aux flambeaux procession. Rosary will be said on the sanctuary parvis at 9pm. The celebrations will be broadcast on Radju Marija 102.3/107.8 FM. and on Radju RTK 103.0/97.8FM.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech will be holding a prayer and catechesis meeting at the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish church, Fontana, on Friday from 10 to 11am. All are welcome.

• Next Sunday, the Oasi Foundation will celebrate its 26th anniversary. To commemorate this event, a commemorative and thanksgiving celebration will be held at the Oasi centre in Victoria at 10.30am. Oasi director general will present the Oasi award to a number of persons who, throughout the years and on a voluntary basis, supported Oasi. Oasi members, workers, volunteers, benefactors and clients and their families are invited to attend.

• A fundraising event, Under the Stars concert, is being organised by the Gozo CCU Foundation at Ta’ Frenċ gardens, off Marsalforn Road, on July 16, at 7.30pm. Entertainment will be provided by Brass Tubes, with special guest Corazon. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of another two ventilators for the Gozo CCU Ward.
